The first training course on the implementation of the Healthy City program was held in cooperation with the World Health Organization in Iran, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Health Services Management Research Center of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. In this three-day course, which was held with the presence of officials and related experts in the field of health, governorship, municipality, NGOs and other related institutions from 10 volunteer cities; Nine professors taught the predicted subjects. Also during these three days, 6 team work was done and reported by the participants.
Dr. Mohammad Asai Ardakani, one of the founders of the Healthy City program at the World Health Organization office in the Eastern Mediterranean region, was the special guest of the course on the third day, who gave the necessary instructions to start implementing and strengthening this program in Iran. Also, Dr. Farshid Rezaei, Director of the Health Education and Health Promotion Department of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, while emphasizing the continuation of capacity building programs in the healthy city, announced the ministry's support for starting and implementing the Healthy City program in volunteer cities.
This workshop was completed by Dr. Jafar Sadegh Tabrizi and Dr. Mohammad Saadati, summarizing the contents and stating the planned programs for the beginning and continuation of the Healthy City program by Ms. Kordshakeri, a respected expert of the World Health Organization in Iran.
