The first international webinar on the establishment of a national network of healthy cities was held in Iran.

This event was held in cooperation with the World Health Organization EMRO Office and country office in Iran, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Health Services Management Research Center of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences on November 3 and 4, 2021.

In this webinar, the dimensions and concepts of the National Network of Healthy Cities were explained by Dr. Agis Tsouros, Director of the Division of Policy and Governance for Health and Wellbeing,World Health Organization, Regional Office for Europe.

Moreover, Healthy city program situation in EMRO region was briefed by Dr. Samar Elfeky from WHO Regional Office of Eastern Mediterranean Region. The experiences of setting up a national healthy cities network in Greece and Turkey were also discussed by the representatives of these countries. In this webinar, experiences of implementing a healthy city program and community-based initiatives (CBI) from Sahand city in East Azerbaijan, Qazvin city and Tabassum project in Yazd city were also presented.
